  21. Sorry for the off topic post, but I have a really wierd thing happening...

  23. When taping with our Panasonic AG-455u camera, it is supposed to 
  24. auto-detect when you insert a VHS tape so it will tape in normal mode. Our 
  25. camera does not, and tapes in SVHS mode onto a VHS tape.

  27. My question is this, when we tape SVHS on a VHS tape, the video DOES get 
  28. recorded in SVHS! That is, when I play it on a VHS VCR it does not play 
  29. properly, and when I play it in our JVC deck, the tape shows up as being a 
  30. SVHS! I tape first in VHS mode, and then SVHS mode onthe same tape, and 
  31. then played it back in the deck.... the deck forst indicated that is was 
  32. VHS, and then switched to SVHS at the appropriate point.

  34. Can anybody tell me what is going on here? I fond it hard to believe that 
  35. I am getting SVHS quality on a VHS tape, but truthfully all leads point to 
  36. this. Even playing back the footage through a V-Lab set-up shows it as 
  37. clear!

  39. One final question.. is there a place where I could ask this question and 
  40. it WOULD be on-topic... I am still learning all the different conferences 
  41. etc and would appreciate it if somebody could point me inthe right 
  42. direction for next time.
